American singer-songwriter and producer Lake Stovall releases new single "She" via Lekker Collective. Although just shy of two and a half minutes in length, "She" is a definitive R&B bop - marrying electronic elements with gorgeously layered falsetto vocals, while warbling synth chords and a behind-the-beat drum pattern keep it sultry and suggestive.
I was exploring my sound in a different way for "She" - honing in on new skills I've learned over the years when working with other artists. The song encapsulates how you must give time in relationships, but I try to convey how important your individual time is, as well. The lyrics "She wants time, I've got none. She wants something more from you," is open-ended to my listeners whether to give time and determine what that entails. "I've got something more," begins to create new meanings in the possibilities that there are things greater than time which are needed to balance the relationship. - Lake Stovall
Originally a dancer, the Virginia native moved to San Francisco to study sound design and production, working his way from freestyling and dancing in battles to producing for other artists, as well as making music under his own name.
Collaborations with heavyweights such as Ryan Hemsworth and B. Lewis (with who he formed duo project TESSA.) is a testament to his star quality.
